KONGAMATO

Opening

Western Zambia and neighbouring river talk keeps a kongamato: a flying thing that overwhelms boats, a pterosaur in the later Western mouth, a large bat in others. J. C. A. Johnston and later travellers wrote the name into English lists. No specimen sits in a Lusaka case as that flyer. Known birds and flying foxes sit in the competing drawer.
