Opening

In January 1966 and in later nights Wanaque Reservoir in New Jersey put a light on police radio: a thing over the dam, officers on the berm, a glow on water. George Dykstra and other named cops sat in the compiled file. No wreck sat on the spillway. The reservoir is working water. The radio is why Wanaque is a night and not only a lake story.

Finding

Wanaque officers put a light over the reservoir dam on police radio in January 1966. Believe the net. A borough desk does not invent a berm for a later list.

What still will not resolve: a frame a lab will sign, or a close those officers would sign as a known helicopter. Either one would pin the dam. The proving object is still that light on the water, held as lamp or as other by more than a radio call.
