Opening

Paul Bennewitz was an Albuquerque businessman who filmed lights over Kirtland Air Force Base and Manzano in the late 1970s and decided he was watching an alien project. He took his film and his radio theories to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Richard Doty sat in the later telling as the man who fed him a story. Bill Moore sat in the later telling as the man who knew it was a story and kept walking. Project Beta, a paper in Bennewitz's name, mixed base security with a war against greys. Bennewitz broke. He was hospitalised. The lights over Kirtland were a separate weather from the tale he was given.

FOIA on Kirtland has produced real security complaints about unidentified lights and helicopters. That paper does not require greys. Greg Bishop and others later wrote the disinformation as the point of the file: a nervous citizen pointed at a nuclear base and was handed a myth until he could not work. Moore admitted a relationship with AFOSI. Doty has talked in circles. Bennewitz died in 2003.

The spine of the file is a citizen, a base, and a story that was fed. Bennewitz is Kirtland lights plus Project Beta. It is not a recovered craft in a Manzano drawer.

Timeline

Late 1970s Bennewitz films and records. He contacts Kirtland and AFOSI.

Early 1980s Project Beta and the feeding, in the later reconstructed telling. His health collapses.

Moore's later admissions and Bishop's book sit in the 2000s reconstruction. FOIA on the base lights sits beside them.

The cattle-mutilation and Dulce layers that attached to his name are later ivy. The base fence is first.

Kirtland and Manzano are nuclear weather. A civilian with a camera at that fence is already a security problem before anyone says grey. That is why AFOSI had a chair for him. Project Beta mixing base defence with an alien war is the tell that the file left the fence.

Key figures

Paul Bennewitz owns the film and the break.

Richard Doty owns the AFOSI chair in the later telling.

Bill Moore owns the admission that he walked with the office.

Kirtland security owns real complaints about lights that do not need a grey.

Physical and documentary trail

On the paper, 1979-88 give you four hard objects and no craft.

One: Bennewitz film and radio notes on lights near Kirtland.

Two: AFOSI contact and the Project Beta paper.

Three: FOIA security complaints about unidentified activity at the base.

Four: later admissions that a story was supplied. Kirtland AFOSI contacts with Paul Bennewitz, early 1980s, are the originating official tray.

There is no public craft. There is no full unredacted feeding script. There is no denial that he was in the building.

FOIA complaints about lights are a stay-behind that does not need Dulce. The feeding script, unredacted, would finish how much of Beta was handed to him and how much he built.

He was given a story until he could not tell the lights from the tale.

Later reconstructed account of the Bennewitz contact, as carried by Moore and others

Competing explanations

A man who saw a real alien project and was silenced. This is Bennewitz's own end-state. It has film of lights. It has no craft.

A man who saw real base activity and was buried under a myth. This is the disinfo reading. It has Moore. It has a broken witness.

A sick man who needed no help to invent Dulce. Incomplete. He started with a fence and a camera.

Hybrid caution. Lights were filmed. A story was fed. The man broke. The base is still a base.

Later life of the case

Dulce fanfic and Doty interviews. I keep those on the later-life shelf. The Kirtland contact stays first.

Finding

Paul Bennewitz filmed lights at Kirtland, took them to AFOSI, and ended inside a story about greys that broke him. Believe the camera on the fence. Believe that a man can be fed until the fence disappears. A businessman does not invent a base for a later novel.

What still will not resolve: the unredacted feeding file, or a frame from his film that is only a helicopter. Either one would pin the lights. The proving object is still that file, or that airframe, held by the office he walked into.
