OPERATION MENU

Opening

From March 1969 into 1970 American B-52s bombed eastern Cambodia under a caption the public did not have: Menu, with meals for names, Breakfast first. The targets sat over the border from Vietnam. Congress and much of the press were not told in the first weather. A dual reporting system kept the sorties off the map that went to the Hill. Nixon and Kissinger sat in the later telling as the men who wanted the border hit and the paper quiet. The raids became public in 1970 and after. Cambodia's later wreckage had more fathers than Menu. Menu is still a secret bombing that flew.

This card is a captioned air campaign and a reporting trick. It is not a targeting manual.

The spine of the file is B-52s and a dual book. Operation Menu is 1969-70. It is not a rumour that no cell took off.

There is no page that makes the B-52s a myth. There is no claim Cambodia's later years had only this father. There is no full public targeting list this card needs.

Meal captions and a second book are the stay-behinds. A complete target list would finish the map. Flown cells already finish the campaign as real.

The sorties were real and the ordinary map did not show them.

Competing explanations

A secret war on a neutral map. This is the shocked reading. It has meals. It has a dual book.

A border campaign against sanctuaries. The official door. Still secret from the Hill at first.

A paper operation. Weak against crews and later records.

Hybrid caution. Cells flew. The map was quiet. The later country had more than one wrecking.

Finding

B-52s bombed Cambodia under Menu from March 1969, and a dual book kept those sorties off the map the Hill first saw. Believe the cells. An air campaign does not invent meal names for a later memoir.

What still will not resolve: a complete public target list, or a page that makes the dual book a myth. Either one would finish the quiet. The proving object is still that second book, held as flown hours, not as a rumour of noise.
